My Electronic Pump does not work as intended.

If your electronic pump does not work as intended, the first thing to do is understand whether the malfunction is in the pump or in the plumbing system.

The "bucket test" is a fast way to understand that, when the cause of the malfunction is unknown.

For a “bucket test” you need:

  • The malfunctioning pump

  • Two pieces of hose, one or two meters long (~3 or 6ft)

  • A bucket

  • A 12 or 24 volt power connection

  • If possible, a faucet directly to the end of the outlet hose

Once you have this material, you simply put some water in the bucket, look for a chair or something to have the pump higher than the bucket, and then:

  1. Connect one of the two hoses to the inlet of the pump

  2. Connect the other piece of hose to the outlet of the pump. If you have it, also connect the faucet to the other end of this hose, to regulate the flow.

  3. Put the inlet and outlet hose in the bucket, with the faucet fully open

  4. Turn the power supply on or connect the battery to the pump

At this point the pump should:

  1. Run at maximum speed starting with a slow ramp, with the yellow led on

  2. Turn the blue led on, with a slow blink for ten seconds after the water arrives

  3. Have a steady blue led and yellow led when pumping water with the faucet open

 You can now:

  1. Try to close the faucet halfway, the pump should regulate the flow and slow down. I expect a green led when reaching the pressure target.

  2. Try to close completely the faucet, the pump should stop within 20 second maximum.

  3. Try to open and close in different ways the faucet, to find if the pump follows or gets in a situation in which it seems it does not slow down and the pressure rises too much.

If the pump works correctly in this situation, the issue is in your system. If the pump does something strange, the issue is in the sensor or in the pump.

When contacting our support service for help, if possible, please attach a video of this procedure if you find that the issue is in the pump.
